Uses :
Suction Line of Irrigation Pumps:
- Installed at the bottom of suction pipes in open wells, sumps, ponds, or tanks.
- Prevents water from draining out of the suction line when the pump is switched off.
- Keeps the line primed (filled with water), ensuring the pump starts easily next time.
Prevents Debris Entry:
- The foot valve has a filter screen or strainer that stops leaves, sand, and debris from entering the pump and damaging it.
- Crucial for systems using non-filtered or open water sources.
Ensures One-Way Flow (NRV Function):
- Ball-type mechanism allows water to flow upwards only and closes quickly if water tries to flow back down.
- Protects pump and system from back pressure or reverse water hammer.
Used in Drip, Sprinkler, and Lift Irrigation Systems:
- Supports consistent suction pressure in large drip or sprinkler irrigation setups.
- Especially useful in lift irrigation schemes where long suction lines are used.
