USES OF IRRIGATION
- Fertigation:
This is its main use. It injects liquid or water-soluble fertilizers into the irrigation water stream, ensuring precise nutrient delivery directly to the root zones of plants. This helps maximize crop yields, especially in drip irrigation systems. - Chemigation:
It’s also used to inject other chemicals like pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and nematicides into the irrigation water for pest and disease control. This can be particularly helpful for treating root-infected plants. - pH Control:
It can inject acids or bases to adjust the pH level of the irrigation water, ensuring optimal growing conditions for different crops. - Disinfection:
The injector can be used to add disinfectants like chlorine to the irrigation water to prevent algae growth and bacterial contamination. - Nutrient Management:
In greenhouses and nurseries, it allows for the precise delivery of nutrient solutions to plants grown in controlled environments.
