Uses
Line Flushing in Drip Irrigation
- It is primarily used at the end of drip laterals or submains to flush out dirt, debris, and sediments that accumulate inside the pipes.
- This helps prevent clogging of drippers or emitters.
System Maintenance
- Enables easy maintenance by allowing operators to manually open the valve and clean the system regularly.
- Extends the life of filters, laterals, and drippers.
Initial Flushing During Startup
- When a new irrigation system is installed, flush valves are used to clean the pipes before connecting drippers.
- Ensures that no construction debris or soil enters the system.
Seasonal Flushing
- At the start of each irrigation season, the flush valve is opened to remove any stagnant water or sediment.
Used in Mainlines and Submains
- The 2” size is suitable for larger flow capacities, so it’s typically installed at the end of 2-inch PVC or HDPE submain lines.
